Members of the Greater Cincinnati Writers League and the Cincinnati Poetry Workshop had a reading of their poetry at Joseph Beth Bookstore, in Rookwood Plaza, Norwood, on August 8, 2006 from 7 - 8:30 p.m.

GCWL members read their poems, and poems of former members, as well as talked about the history of the group, founded in 1930.  Poets who are professors of creative writing/poetry and have served as our critics were invited to attend and were introduced.  All who write or enjoy hearing poetry performed were invited to attend.

Members of GCWL are on a list to receive an invitation to submit poems to the Ohio Poetry Day competitions each year.  Also, GCWL sponsors one of the Ohio Poetry Day contests annually.
